What Causes The Locking Of Stainless Steel Screws?
We often experience lockup when assembling stainless steel bolts and stainless steel nuts. What is deadlock? Locking, also known as locking, refers to the phenomenon that the bolt and the nut are locked during the tightening process, which generally occurs between the stainless steel bolt and the stainless steel nut, so it is also called stainless steel screw locking or stainless steel screw locking.
Why does lockup occur? Analyzing the reasons, there are the following points:
1. The inclination angle of the thread fit and the soft characteristics of stainless steel are easy to cause locking. During the installation process, the force is uneven or inclined, causing the central axis of the screw and the nut to be inclined to the maximum, and the tooth pattern is more easily damaged and the occlusion is locked; the hardness of the stainless steel screw is relatively soft, if the friction falls off during the locking process The iron filings will stick and not fall off, thus interfering with the smooth entry and exit of the thread, resulting in the death of the bottom and top of the tooth.
2. Excessive locking force and low thermal conductivity of stainless steel can easily lead to thread locking. The stainless steel screw and nut generate heat due to friction during rotation. The thermal conductivity of stainless steel is relatively low (basically in the range of 10-30w/mc°, about 1/3 of carbon steel), when the pressure and heat generated destroy the chromium oxide layer (the reason why stainless steel is not easy to rust oxide layer) When the metal teeth are blocked/sheared directly, and the stainless steel is relatively soft, the phenomenon of adhesion occurs. The greater the locking force, the greater the heat generated, and the more likely the stainless steel in the Asan part of the screw is to be stuck.
